The 3 Blog writing steps you need to know before start writing

  

As a professional blogger, I have written approximately 650 blog articles, and I realised one thing: there is no magic, but there is a helpful shortcut.


In this article, for you who want to start blogging, I would like to share some writing steps that you can follow.


1. Know the goal of the article 



The first step of writing a blog post is to know the goal of your blog post.

You can ask yourself "Why do I want to write this blog post?"

If you are writing as your diary, then you can forget about all the technical aspects of blog writing, but if you are writing blog posts for monetization, then the story is all different.

If your goal for each article is to make money, then you should be a "Revenue oriented mindset" person.

As I have shared earlier in the post "The 10 Tips to write better blog posts in 2023", there are 10 easy steps to follow to make a high pageview post.


  1. Target the reader group 
  2. Focus on User-oriented content 
  3. Make it informative
  4. Always research SEO keywords 
  5. Rewrite posts if needed 
  6. Use Bulleted lists 
  7. Create vertical space between lines
  8. Check grammar 
  9. Write something you are professional about
  10. Ask your mom if she understood or not

2. Never forget about Long-tail SEO



The second thing that you want to pay attention is to selecting a long tail keyword.


I recommend you make this consciousness a habit so that every time you write a post, it is with a long tail keyword.

To explain easily, let's compare the 2 keywords combination "Digital Detox" and "advantage, disadvantage, digital, detox".


The keyword combination with the 4 words "advantage, disadvantage, digital, detox" has a precise reason that the user wants to research on the Internet to find out something.


By this keyword, I assume as "The user is trying to know the advantages and disadvantages of digital detox because the user wants to try it but is still not sure whether to do it now or not".


Now I am clear that WHY I write the post with the keywords "advantage, disadvantage digital detox", so I write the post based on my experience/research to solve the users' problem.


To sum up, a longtail keyword will tell you exactly what the users want to know, so it's almost like an answer to you who write the post to give the answer to the other people. 


3. Use Voice Input


There is another tip that you can utilise can you write a blog article; using voice input.


Many content writers miss the fact that speaking is much faster than writing.


If you’re not sure how fast it is to use voice input when publishing a blog article, you may want to try to compare the time that you spend on literally typing and speaking to write.


Voice input will make you able to write more articles in less time.


Even when I am travelling, I write blog posts with voice input before I go out to town from the hotel because the hotel is calm and I always focus on writing at the hotel where I stay.
