Digital nomad & minimalist are the best lifestyle combination ever

I have been spending my life as a digital nomad for at least 6 years and this lifestyle is nothing but amazing.

In this post, I will talk about the reasons why this lifestyle is amazing and how to become a digital nomad & minimalist with some example steps.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, having a job that does not require you to stay in one place is a great advantage.

Even though there is always a risk in being a digital nomad freelance, there are so many upsides to being a digital nomad.

  1. No more commuting
  2. No more office
  3. No more overwork, more time flexibility

Those are the upsides of being a digital nomad freelance that I feel all the time for the past 6 years.

It took me a lot of time to prepare to become a digital nomad but the preparation and experimental period was worth it when I look back now.

The 3 Steps to Become a digital nomad and a Minimalist

  1. Get a job that does not ask you to stay in one place
  2. Decrease your possession and be ready for the journey
  3. Try to move to another city/country

1. Get a job that does not ask you to stay in one place

Many jobs do not require you to stay in one place such as consultant, engineer, blogger, artist, designer, web developer and so on...

When choosing a job, you also want to think about whether the job that you are going to focus on is something comfortable.

Anyway, the first step is to have a job that makes you able to move around while working.

The post explains in more detail: "How to become a digital nomad with no experience?"

2. Decrease your possession and be ready for the journey

Decrease your belongings and get ready for your digital nomad journey!

You are going to be a digital nomad so most likely you do not carry 5 suitcases with you; you will be with only one backpack or at least one suitcase to have everything you need in it.

Sweden is 5th country to live for me and as far as I have experienced, the less belongings you bring with you to a new place, the easier you feel to settle at a new place because you do not need to take time to care about things but instead you have time and energy to focus on the life at a new place.

At the end of the day, if you need something, you can buy at anytime after arrival to a new place unless it is middle of the forest or something like that, so I really think bringing a lot of things with you when moving to a new place is a bad idea.

3. Try to move to another city/country

For some people, moving to a new place may be really difficult but you who are reading this post looking for a way to become a digital nomad will get excited about moving to another location.

At this stage, you will be able to move to another place at any time in terms of job and lifestyle so you want to think about which city / country to move to.

This is the most fun part because you have put your effort to prepare for this moment.
