This time I would like to talk about the reason to live in the share house as a minimalist.
I’m currently living in the same house in Sweden and actually, this is the first time for me to live in a share house.
The upside of choosing the share house as a minimalist
The first upside of living in a shared house is that you don’t need to buy a lot of stuff when you move in.
In most cases, furniture is installed and also other small necessities for daily life are already in the house so you don’t need to buy that furniture.
This can be a very good upside in terms of both minimalism and financial aspect.
So if you’re fine with living with other people, I strongly recommend you choose the share house because the initial moving expense will be much lower than moving into the ordinary apartment.
If you’re living in a house sometimes difficulties may happen such as the booking of the shared washing machine.
If there are only several washing machines installed in the basement for the entire building, then looking at the washing machine will be some kind of challenging.
The earliest date that you can book maybe a week later or in the worst-case scenario two weeks later one more.
Then what would you do with a situation like this?
I would wash all the clothes by hand even without using washing soap.
If you’re interested in why I don’t even use that washing machine, please take a look at the above blog post.
The 3 tips when choosing the share house
Tips when choosing the share house are...
- Choose the house with furniture installed
- Choose a house with nice people
- Choose a house with enough private space
Choose the house with furniture installed
This is very obvious but you would like to choose a share house with furniture fully installed.
This will save you money and time.
Purchase and distribution of furniture take so much energy so you do want to save that energy.
