The relationship between digital detox and decision fatigue

Let’s talk about my favourite topic digital detox.

Digital detox is so important for everyone in this century because people are so obsessed with digital devices and some are heavily addicted to them so they are no longer able to extend ordinary life which sounds very extraordinary to me.

When it comes to starting digital detox, you also want to know the relationship between digital detox and decision fatigue.

If you think you want to do a digital detox, then it’s better to understand the decision fatigue as well.

What is Decision Fatigue?

I have talked about decision fatigue in detail in the below article, but to say short, decision fatigue can be caused by repeating decision-making.

And I think many of you have experienced that after a long working day, your brain is not functioning in the way you want and that is a typical fatigue situation.

The negative point of decision fatigue is that most people do not realise that they have decision fatigue, so even if they are tired, they keep making the decision.

Decision fatigue can be caused by even very simple decision-making processes such as swiping right or left when using a dating app.

What is Digital Detox?

Digital detox is my favourite topic to talk about and I have already published many blog posts about digital detox

To say short, a digital detox is a behaviour of putting away your digital devices consciously to have more non-digital time in your life.

The length of time you do the digital detox may defer how serious you are about digital detox.

For example, I have written in the below blog post that you can try many patterns of digital detox.

If you want to know more about this don’t beatbox please refer to the category tag "Digital Detox".

Why Digital Detox is so effective for avoiding Decision Fatigue?

Here comes the main part; why digital detox is so effective to avoid decision fatigue?

Nowadays most decision fatigue is caused by either your job or the overuse of digital devices, so if you consciously avoid using digital devices, it is more likely that you will have less chance to decide something.

The upside of avoiding decision fatigue is that you can focus on your important things to use more energy on your brain.

Of course, everybody works so you cannot avoid the decision fatigue from working, so I want to propose you decrease the time you use additional devices in your free time.

So basically, digital devices are made to get people hooked into them so if you do not try to avoid using digital devices, yes you’ll easily get caught on the digital devices for a long time.

A digital detox challenge, especially going to a forest or park, is very useful for your digital detox habit because if you do not bring any of the devices with you, then there’s no way you can check your notifications.

If you are in your room with digital devices it’s going to be really hard to do the digital detox because there’s always easy access to these devices.

My recommendation is to go to nature without any digital devices.

I have done this before and it worked pretty much great for me so I would like to suggest you do this.

Thanks for reading and I will see you in next blog post.
