I have been writing many articles about minimalism and traveling and this time, the topic is one of my most passionate points about minimalism & traveling; "waterproof".
I have not mentioned waterproofing in past articles but most of my belongings are waterproof.
A person obsessed with waterproof products will talk about the importance of waterproof products in this article.
If your backpack is fully waterproof, your travel will be something really comfortable and amazing without any trouble of getting wet.
However, if you are not ready for the sudden change of the weather you'll be in trouble.
So, let's take a look now.
1. Comfortable in the rain
The first reason you want to have a waterproof backpack is that you’ll be very comfortable in the rain.
When you are traveling to unfamiliar places or countries, it will be very difficult to predict the weather change.
For instance, you plan a week of traveling to a foreign country, but what do you think if you find out that the weather during your traveling is always rainy?
You may feel a little bit disappointed because usually, people think that rainy condition is not comfortable.
However, let’s think about the reason why people think rain is not comfortable.
I think most of the reason why people think that red is not comfortable is that their belongings or their outfit are not ready for the rain.
In Europe, we have a saying directly translated into something like ”the weather is not bad, your outfit is bad”.
I think if you are somewhere in Europe you are very familiar with this saying.
No, I think you know the first reason why you should have a fully waterproof backpack, especially for your traveling.

2. Digital devices inside are safe

The backpack is one of the typical investments that most people are missing; people tend to keep pushing a 30€ backpack over and over again in a short period instead of going for a 300€ pack.
It is the simple math that if you use a 300€ backpack for 10 years, the actual cost you pay is exactly the same as you purchase a 30€ back every year.
It's obvious that 300€ has much more user-satisfaction quality including the quality of waterproof, so I do recommend you to go for the authentic & expensive waterproof backpack.

3. Easy Dry
The third reason you want to have a waterproof backpack is that usually, a waterproof backpack tends to dry quickly.
Easy drying is one of the most important points when you travel around because the time of your trip is limited, so you want to use the time in the way you want.
If your belongings are difficult to dry, you may need to spend some time to dry those products, or even in the worst case scenario, you may need to bring around half wet half dry clothes because you had to check out from the hotel before your clothes or belongings became completely dry.
Nobody wants this to happen, so my easiest proposal for you is to make your belongings waterproof; everything you own.
The backpack is actually the main product that you are going to carry everything in it, so if your backpack is wet because of the rain during the trip, it means that everything in the backpack will be wet.
To avoid this catastrophic nightmare, I do recommend you replace your backpack with the fully waterproof one if you are having that one which is not waterproof…
