The best way to brew coffee while traveling: Aeropress

If you are a true coffee lover and if you are traveling for a long time, I do think you will miss the feeling and experience of brewing coffee by yourself.

So in this article, I would like to introduce my traveling packing method for coffee equipment.

As a minimalist and coffee lover, I have tried out so many patterns of coffee packing methods and I reached this ultimate and the most minimal parking method.

Let's jump into it.

The coffee shop is almost my relaxing place and office at the same time.

The ultimate minimalist packing  method for coffee

When I travel, the coffee types of equipment that I bring will be these four items.

  1. Aeropress ( Amazon link here )
  2. Aeropress spoon
  3. Hand grinder ( Amazon link here )
  4. Coffee beans

The Aeropress has three parts; the body, the plunger, and the lid.

The Aeropress itself it's so light that putting it inside the backpack and bringing around will not be a big problem.

Also as written in the article "Aeropress Go is the best coffee maker ever for minimalist lifestyle", it is hard to break because the durability is so strong that I have been using mine for many years but I've never broken it.

Regarding the hand grinder, the Japanese brand POLEX (Amazon link here) has been my favorite for a long time because this one is also light and made of stainless.

The shape is very easy to bring around as well and also durable.

The line "3" is about 220cc, and 260cc if you fill it till the top.

The spoon came with Aeropress and it can measure approximately 18 grams of coffee beans per scoop.

If you pour the hot water into the maximum capacity of the body part, it will be approximately 250 g to 260 g.

18 g of coffee beans to 260 g of hot water is a decent density that many people can love.

If you think it's too dense and strong you can always add hot water after you finish brewing.

When I'm outside I'm traveling, I do not bring the coffee scale because the coffee scale is very fragile and easy to break so I want to leave it at my home.

When you are traveling around, sometimes you will face a rough environment.

Even in that environment, the coffee equipment that I bring, especially Aeropress, will have no problem at all.

To conclude, the Aeropress with the hand grinder is the ultimate, least but maximum, a combination that you can bring around even for a long time traveling like a month or more.

One tip about traveling & coffee

When you travel to some places and if you know there are some coffee shops in your destination area, what I recommend is to try the local coffee beans.

This is actually what I enjoy the most when I travel to different cities in Japan or different countries because these days the culture of specialty coffee is so developed that in many countries we can see a lot of specialty coffee shops.

Japan has also a wonderful specialty coffee culture so it is very easy to find great quality coffee shops everywhere.

So my recommendation is "How about bringing Aeropress with you when you travel next time and try the locally roasted coffee beans for your memory and experience?"
