Time Management when cooking is so important

This is what it looks like after I cut the vegetables for freezing.

Everybody living in the century is busy, so time management is one of the most important skills that everybody should have.

The method that I'm going to show you is very simple but I found that not so many people around me are actually doing it.

My method of time management when cooking is called the "freezing method".

( I just call it this way)

By doing this, I have successfully made a lot of extra time which I can use for many other purposes, so I would like you to read through and understand this method to make your extra time.

The freezing method itself is very simple and easy to do.

What you need to do is prepare a decent amount of vegetables (or meat, fish), cut it into the size that you want and freeze them using Ziploc.

The freezing method is probably popular among kids-raising parents, but not popular among the singles like me.

So, how to make the freezing method work in your life?

What are the benefits of the freezing method?

The steps of the freezing method

The steps of the fitting method are as follows;

  1. Purchase vegetables, meat, or fish for 2 weeks*
  2. Prepare Ziploc, stopwatch, big bowl, and a knife
  3. Go ahead and cut the foods one by one and mix them in a big bowl
  4. Now, your original vegetable mix is ready.
  5. Separate your original vegetable mix into each Ziploc. Each Ziploc should contain the only amount of one meal.
  6. When you're done with the Ziploc process, put them into the freezer
  7. Now you are all set for 2 weeks without a cooking lifestyle

*This one is lunch preparation for 14 days (meaning 14 meals), so if you want to do the same for your dinner, you can double the amount that you prepare.

To highlight some points, mixing vegetables and meat is also a great idea.

Since I am a vegetarian, I do not do that but explain the method itself, vegetables and meat mix are very convenient because what you have to do to prepare your lunch is just open the freezer and grab one Ziploc, and open it to the pan with some oils.

The reason why I said that you want to prepare the stopwatch as well is that you want to measure the time that took to prepare 14 meals freezing bag.

If you focus on this process, I leave it won't take more than an hour.

I've been doing this method for a long time, so preparing 14 meals took me only 40 minutes.

If your hobby is cooking, I do not recommend this method because the purpose of this method is only for time management and time efficiency.

For myself, I'm not a big fan of cooking but at the same time, I want to stay healthy so I don't want to eat outside quite often.

As I have written in the article"Minimalism Concept and Goal; What is Minimalism and how to set your goal?", focusing is very important.

Focusing is the basis of minimalism for me, and after I learned how to focus on anything, my free time has increased very much more than before...

Now let's move on to the benefits of this method.

The benefits of the freezing method

The benefits of the freezing method are as below.

  1. You will need to do this only twice a month.
  2. You can prepare your meal and do other things at the same time.
  3. You can involve your kids in this fun activity.
  4. You will not make the food go bad which prevents your extra expense.
  5. You can go traveling whenever you want.

You will need to do this only twice a month.

This one is a simple calculation.

If you can prepare 14 meals at one time, you'll have to do this place a month.

From the perspective of an extreme minimalist, I definitely think that the same type of tasks should be done at once.

By doing this, you can decrease the frequency of washing your knife, washing your dishes, opening a fridge, and so on.

You can prepare your meal and do other things at the same time.

This is another interesting benefit of this method.

My suggestion is that you listen to your favorite music to boost your motivation doing this, or you may listen to a podcast to study something you're interested in.

The important point here is that while you are cutting the veggies or meat, your brain and your ears are free.

I'm not trying to make you really busy with this method, but this is the approach of mine towards dealing with daily tasks.

You can involve your kids in this fun activity.

If you can involve your kids in this activity, probably you don't have to say to kids " hey I'm going to cook so can you play with your sister?" anymore.

If you don't want to let your kids use a knife, packing the vegetables into a Ziploc process will be theirs.

I think kids always love to play any type of game, so it is also a great idea to make this method a game to increase family time.

You will not make the food go bad which prevents your extra expense.

If you make your vegetables go bad, that means you've paid for nothing.

You paid for the food but you couldn't eat it.

It has a huge negative impact on your finance and on the environment.

The freezing method can solve both of these problems easily.

You can go traveling whenever you want.

Actually, this happened to me quite often before; sometimes I have this feeling that I want to go for a domestic short trip TODAY, but I have some vegetables that I have to consume soon, so the vegetables won't let me go...

Freezing vegetables can solve this problem easily as well because it is very difficult to make the frozen vegetable go bad in a few days, right?

Freeze them...
